FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION'S
What Are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions are faux eyelashes, they are applied to one natural lash. The faux eyelash is placed close to the lash line with semi-permanent bonding adhesive. Eyelash extensions are applied using tweezers, designed specifically for lashing. The application process normally takes between 90-120 minutes to complete the set.
How Long Do Eyelash Extensions Last?
Eyelash extensions can last up to 4 weeks but if you are wanting to maintain the look, it is highly recommended to attend a refill appointment every 2-3 weeks. The retention of your eyelash extensions depends a lot on how you care for them post-appointment. You must follow the aftercare advice given to you by your eyelash technician.
How Should I Prepare For My Lash Appointment?
-
Avoid excessive amounts of caffeine prior to your appointment as this can cause jitters in your eyes and throughout your body. Making it difficult to complete the service.
-
Do not use mascara, eyeliner or strip lashes for 24-48 hours prior to your lash appointment. Please also ensure your lashes are clean and free of makeup or any residue. This can be ensured by cleansing your natural lashes and eyelid with an oil-free cleanser before your appointment. If you cannot do this the lash tech will be able to cleanse them for a fee.

No, they are not! Divine Beauty Co takes care in ensuring each extension is applied currently to maintain the health of your natural lashes.
My Eyelash Extensions Aren’t Lasting, Why?
This could be for many reasons, here is why;
-
LASH SHEDDING CYCLE
Our natural lashes go through a shedding cycle, where our old lashes are replaced by new baby lashes. They immediately begin to grow where the existing lash was. Unfortunately, it can be a slow growth process, which results in your lashes being less full as there will be gaps. Each person will lose between 2-5 natural lashes each day, this is a normal and natural process. The majority of people will notice the loss of their lashes more frequently due to the extension being thicker and black compared to natural lashes. -
USING MASCARA, WATERPROOF MAKEUP OR OIL-BASED PRODUCTS
It is proven that mascara breaks the bonds of the adhesive used to attach eyelash extensions. Mascara and waterproof makeup are near impossible to remove when applied on or around lash extensions without causing damage. The use of any oil-based products on or around your eyes will also break down the adhesive, causing the lash extension to fall out. -
OILY SKIN
People with oily skin can experience issues with lash extensions. As the oil in your skin if excessive can make it hard for the extension to bond to the natural lash and will also cause the adhesive to break down. If you are aware that you have very oily skin, we recommend beginning a light eyelash extension set, to monitor how they adhere. -
RUBBING EYES OR PULLING LASH EXTENSIONS
It is important you avoid rubbing or pulling your lash extensions at all times. If you do pull or rub your extensions the damage cannot be undone. Excessive rubbing or pulling will cause your lash extensions to come out with your natural lashes, leaving missing natural lashes. Therefore, until your next lash cycle there will be no natural lash to apply an extension to. -
THE WAY YOU SLEEP
The position that you sleep in can also be a huge contributing factor in lash extension loss. If you are a tummy sleeper, or a side sleeper your lash extensions can get caught on pillowcases, and excessive rubbing will cause the extension to fall out during your sleep. Silk pillowcase or a silk sleeping mask is the best way to prevent loss during sleep. -
AFTERCARE NEGLECTION
Aftercare advice from your lash technician should always be followed and implemented continuously. If you neglect to clean your lash extensions or remove makeup, dirt, oil or debris you will lose lash extensions which can potentially lead to infections and inflammation.
